I am astounded at this post…I just found your NDE story and subscribed. But I literally just wrote a story last week called Nestled where I felt the weight of the Lord come down on me while kneeling in prayer, and I compared it to feeling like a weighted blanket (though I don’t own one myself either!) So your story written here has really validated my experience!
I often find it is a choice. Many times in my life I’ve had to say “I trust you, Lord” even when the feelings weren’t there. But I do find it easier now that I’ve been there and heard from Him. Its so validating. Thank you for reading!!! I appreciate you.
I have always been comforted by the “nearness” of God, as expressed in Psalm 139: “How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them they are more than the sand. When I awake, I am still with you.” Psalm 139:17,18. Passages like these are the heavy blanket you described! A similar experience occurs when I pray at the Adoration chapel in our Catholic church. In the chapel is a consecrated host, and because we believe that Jesus is present in the “bread and wine” it’s another way of being with Jesus.

Oh Jen! I’m so glad you are here! Thanks Lord for our weighted blankets. Coverage like no one else can give! 🩵
This was an encouraging read, Julie. A reminder to seek His presence every day.
Thanks for reading! Glad it was encouraging to you today. <3
This is so encouraging to read. I don’t always feel very good at feeling God’s presence but it inspires me to keep praying.
God’s presence is how you describe it. Heavy, comforting, and full of peace. I love how we can trust Him even when circumstances say otherwise.

I love this, Chuck, and I am so thrilled to hear that you feel it too when God meets up with you. So holy and beautiful. Thank you for reading. :-)
