I love this! ❤️ I discovered mine in the 90s,but learned way more recently. It's my default prayer language and I usually only switch to English if I have something specific to pray or declare. I find the studies on it fascinating, especially the part where speaking in tongues 15 minutes per day boosts your immune system by over 30%! I don't know how they know that, but it's pretty cool.
Oh my goodness. I had no idea of any of that. Whaaat? Well my mentors did tell me to practice 15 min a day. No problem- I go on and on and on. lol. I will add it to my list to start doing some research, as soon as the heaven book is done (this weekend). Glad I can talk to you about all of this.
I appreciate the read, and you swinging by to comment, Jen. He is up to some amazing things. So grateful for the opportunity to highlight His intense love, power, and joy. May we continue to honor Him in all things earthly until His return. And may we listen and do, as He requests.
I really enjoyed reading this! I have the gift as well and have discovered some interesting things about it.
When I pray in my unknown tongue while driving through different parts of the region I live, it changes, depending on the part of town or area.
It almost feels like an atmospheric change. My voice can turn into singing in my prayer language or it can turn into a warfare prayer very deep and very strong and I’m not even trying.
I have had this gift for over 27 years. I must say that there are times I forget I have it and don’t use it which is not good but then the Holy Spirit reminds me and I start using it again.
I like hearing other people’s stories and it’s good to share. There’s so much I didn’t understand about this gift. I’m still learning.
I must say that when I don’t know how to pray, it certainly does help even if it’s with tears.
Thank you so much for posting. I heard from somebody else yesterday as well that or can change. Mine right now sounds pretty “oriental“. I do have contact with several of people from that those regions in my professional life. And I also wonder if it is an honor or a “tip of a hat” to the people who activated it in me because they are Korean.
That’s cool about changing for you based on region.
I am learning a ton, but still have so much to learn. And I always appreciate talking to other people who understand.
Someone also said that it helps them when they don’t have words and praying for other people. That makes a lot of sense. Sometimes the words needs to be upper regions I guess.
Tears happen too! But actually, it has also been helpful for that because sometimes when I’m praying in English for people, I get emotional. And I discovered that if I go into the prayer language instead, it pauses the emotional part of my brain enough that I can keep a handle on it.
Yes! Thank you! I have already seen it at work. In fact, he tried to show up last night in my dreams, big ugly thing. When he got close, he seemed startled, hissed at me, and pulled away very quickly. I still called “Jesus” after him and reminded him he has no power over me.

This is so cool, Julie! I love how God works.
Me too. He is gracious indeed. It means a lot that you stopped in, read and commented. Thank you!
Your prayer language really helps with spiritual warfare...
