This was beautifully written, and it answered some questions I hadn't quite gotten around to asking--especially about that beautiful song. I'd never thought about Jesus longing to be back in heaven with the Father. You gave me such a fresh perspective on His waiting time. Thank you!
Merry Christmas Julie, I hope you had a blessed day.
I love reading your articles because you make me think. I am so used to reading the Bible and not 'seeing' behind the words. I hope to have a some of my questions answered one day, but perhaps as said, it won't be necessary then.
Amanda, I love that you stopped by to read and I needed your words very much tonight. I thank you for letting me know it has blessed you. Merry Christmas. 🎄🧡
Likewise! Earlier this month I watched a short video on the shepherds, who "kept watch" and the speaker mentioned that, from a spiritual perspective, it was God inviting us to a vigil or period of “wakefulness” as we enter into a time of both expectation and preparation for the birth and second coming of Jesus. That inspired me to dig into the concept of keeping watch or keeping vigil (wrote an article on Keeping Watch this week) and that included thinking about Mary--who "kept vigil" the night Christ was born, as she pondered all the shepherds had to share!

Aww you are welcome. I love the insights He has been giving me and am glad to share. Thank you for reading and merry Christmas!

A long wait for Mary and Jesus….not knowing the how or the when…we do know she had many chances to ponder and reflect…thanks for making us think!
You are welcome. I often wonder what she pondered during that waiting time. This year, I have been digging much deeper.
